RT-RK and Vestel proudly announce our first EUREKA project - VesTA, automated test environment able to handle manual, semiautomatic and automatic test case executions, requirements and test case management system during the verification and testing process. The product will be realized like a set of independent modules which will together create an automated test enterprise solution.
Using the TV system design and production experience of Vestel and test system solution experience of RT-RK, both sides analyzed how to improve the quality of implemented applications and products, and decided on a VesTA project for design and production of an automated environment for TV system tests. This project aims to develop and integrate technical blocks that will be developed in Serbia and Turkey cooperatively and turn the R&D outputs into commercially viable products through project management within the framework of a business plan and marketing strategy. More details about VesTA project can be found at official Eureka web site: http://www.eurekanetwork.org/project/-/id/5062 EUREKA was established in Paris on July 1985 to challenge the increasing migration of R&D and industrial innovation to Asian and North-American countries. Since its inception, substantial public and private funding has been mobilised to support the research and development carried out within the EUREKA framework. It now unites 38 member countries that promote international, market-oriented research and innovation through the support they offer to small and medium-sized enterprises, large industry, universities and research institutes. Through EUREKA, these organisations are introducing new products, processes and services to market, helping make Europe economically strong and socially sound. Vestel is the largest consumer electronics ODM/OEM company in Europe. It has 25% and 18% market share for CRT TVs and FPD TVs in Europe, respectively. The primary focus of R&D activities was related to platform digitalization, high-definition, mobility and connectivity. The main areas of expertise are: Video Enhancement, Audio & Video Data Systems, Multimedia Compression, Mobiles and Portables, Multimedia Connectivity, Wireless, Set Top Boxes (STBs), Integrated Digital Televisions (iDTVs), Digital Television Recorders (DTRs), and Combo products (DVD+DTT).

Continuous development of new technology produces new generations of TV System Solutions with very complex system architecture. Because of such aggressive market prospects and complex TV systems, one of the biggest challenges is system verification. Detailed testing of such a complex system needs a long period of time. Migration from manual to automated testing procedures shortens the time-to-market, lowers product price and improves product quality, 3 key factors that enable market success. Hence test automation becomes an increasingly critical and strategic necessity.
