UPnP Forum memberWe are pleased to announce that UPnP Forum awarded Certificate of Conformity to RT-RK for our latest product: NMP-UPnP.

The UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) architecture allows peer-to-peer networking of PCs, networked home appliances, CE (Consumer Electronic) devices and wireless devices. UPnP compatible device from any vendor can dynamically join a network, obtain an IP address, announce its name, convey its capabilities upon request, and learn about the presence and capabilities of other devices.

“UPnP Certificate of Conformity is clear proof that RT-RK Computer Based Systems, along with other UPnP Forum members, are making home networking more compelling to end-users. Probably, the most important thing for our company is that our device is fully competitive and compatible with the world leading brands in the field of consumer electronic: Acer, Cisco, LG, Nokia, Hewlett Packard, Panasonic, Philips, Motorola, Intel, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba etc” says Tomislav Maruna, NMP Project Leader in RT-RK. He added that acquiring this certificate was very complex process, demanding serious effort from every software engineer in their team, in order to standardize the platform and easily deliver a wide range of networked consumer electronics products for a rich, yet simple multimedia experience.

Milan Savic, NMP Software Architect, emphasized that company has to follow six-step process, including test submitting and reviewing by the official Test Reviewer at UPnP™ Forum. He also explains the basic functionality of the certified product: “MediaRenderer v1.0 is the core of NMP-UPnP device. Such devices are used in conjunction with one or more MediaServer devices to allow a Control Point to render entertainment content (e.g. video, music, images, flash widgets, etc) that is discovered on a MediaServer device within the home network. UPnP Forum certificate means that our product does not depend on any particular media, device, operating system or programming language. It offers friendly user interface and full extensibility which allows us to implement different dynamic content with ease, always focusing on latest trends and customers’ needs.”, says Milan Savic.

NMP-UPnP is included in The Certified Product Registry available at the Official site of the UPnP™ Forum.
