TTTech (Industrial, Control, Aero)
Beginnings
The cooperation between RT-RK and TTTech began in 2012 with two engineers developing Windows drivers in support of the aerospace business. Over the next two years, the cooperation continued in a staff leasing mode in all areas of TTTech engagement – automotive, aerospace, industrial, and off-highway (TTControl). The automotive area was expanding rapidly, leading to the foundation of RT-RK Automotive, while the remaining areas continued to develop as an entity/group operating within RT-RK.
Opening of the RT-RK site in Banjaluka, the center of our cooperation with TTTech, since 2014
The RT-RK side was mostly involved in small projects and activities ranging from the development of network protocols to the implementation of DO178C compliant software for the Aero ASIC platform, and ECSS compliant software for the Space ASIC platform.’
During our cooperation with TTTech, we have gathered knowledge on:
- Technologies/OS systems i.e. Embedded Linux, VxWorks, PikeOS, PXROS
- Communication protocols such as TTEthernet and TSN
- Communication interfaces such as CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, etc.
- Tooling – Parasoft, Cantata, ACT, QA-C, etc.
- Code development following MISRA rules and HIS metrics; how to write safety relevant documentation using ALM tools such as PTC Windchill (ex. Integrity, ex. MKS)
- Processes of aero and space safety software development defined by the DO178C and ECSS standards
- Processes of safety software development defined by ISO13849 and ISO26262 for off-highway vehicles
- Processes of safety software development defined by IEC 61508 and IEC 62061 for electronic safety-related systems applicable to industrial systems
Major projects/responsibilities
Aerospace
- FLPP: bootloader development and BSP and RTOS porting for the Space ASIC chip
- Development and testing (unit, integration, software, system) of the software running on Space ASIC
- SMC2: bootloader development, software development, and testing (unit, integration, software, system) for the Aero ASIC platform with TMS570 microcontroller
- SMC2 SPLAT: development, testing, and certification of the aero software according to the DO178C standard
- EPOS: development, testing, and certification of the space software following ECSS standards for the Space ASIC platform
Off-Highway (TTControl)
- Testing of the entire family of TTC500 ECUs on all levels (unit, integration, software, system) following the ISO26262 standard
- Testing of the entire family of TTC2000 ECUs on all levels (unit, integration, software, system) following the ISO26262 standard
- Establishment of an end-to-end IoT solution for off-highway machines
- Development of software for HMI devices for off-highway machines based on ARM and Yocto
- Porting of TTC30 semi-automatic software tests to fully automated HIL testing platform
- Unit testing of TTC30 ECU with full statement coverage
- Design and development of the frameworks for automated testing of RTOS and embedded Linux devices
Industrial
- Development and maintenance of a scalable Distributed Control System (DCS) based on Deterministic Ethernet for Vestas that fulfills safety requirements and can be reused in multiple turbine models
- Development of software for Edge IP solution, which offers highly configurable TSN functionality for industrial devices
- Development of Slate XNS, a browser-based software used to model topologies, add streams, and deploy configurations for TSN networks
- Development of the Data Service module for the Nerve projects (an open edge computing platform that promotes vendor independence and flexibility) which supports creating analytics and visualization applications, and data moving between the sensors and the cloud
