SYSTEM FOR MARKING ROAD EDGE IN LOW VISIBILITY CONDITIONS USING WIRELESSLY COUPLED SIGNALLING DEVICES
Patent number: RS53023
ABSTRACT
The invention herewith described refers to the system for marking the road edge in low visibility conditions using wirelessly coupled signalling devices mounted near the road edge. The signalling devices dynamically emit signalling light in the direction of a vehicle movement. The signalling light is activated by the first signalling device, after its detection of a vehicle, which sends the message via the wireless communication to the next signalling device in the direction of the vehicle movement. After the the reception of the message, the next signalling device also activates the signalling light and based on the built in logic, decides whether to pass the message further to the next signalling device. Also, each signalling device which turns on its signalling light, initiates the turning on the signalling light by its signalling device pair on the other side of the road.
In this way, the series of light sources is formed that illuminate both sides of the road in the direction of a vehicle movement, and in the way that road edge on the road side of the vehicle movement is marked in red light while the opposite direction road edge is marked in white light. Immediately after the vehicle passes the signalling device, it stops emitting the light. The system dynamic is accomplished therewith that only certain number of devices emits the signalling light in the direction of a vehicle movement, immediately ahead of the vehicle. The system can also work in the special signalling mode in which it provides information to drivers about unusual road circumstances (traffic accidents, road work ahead, traffic jam, passing of special purpose vehicles).; The system enters this operating mode after receiving the appropriate message sent from the special purpose vehicles (police vehicle, fire-fighter vehicle, ambulance vehicle, road maintenance vehicle…).

PROCEDURE AND SYSTEM FOR VIDEO DATA COMPRESSION WITHOUT LOSS IN REAL TIME
Patent number: RS53564
ABSTRACT
Invention herewith described refers to the procedure and system for video data compression and decompression without loss in real time. The idea of the invention is to provide transmission of high definition (HD) video signals without loss in real time, via Ethernet network for data flow, which is achieved by using the method of the fast image compression without the loss based on the content similarity of adjacent horizontal lines within the image and the parallel formation of the multiple compressed video streams with similar content.; On the encoder side, there is accomplished a fixed or adaptive image partitioning into equal segments with the pre-scheduled segmentation step, depending on image content variability, where is for the adjacent horizontal segments of the image assumed that are highly correlated with each other and that can be compressed to approximately the same length. Simultaneously are formed the multiple video streams so that each video stream one after another contains one horizontal line from each of the existing segments of the image, whereby there is achieved the content similarity of video streams.; At the same time, there is performed the compression of video streams with similar content using the entropy coding method, where the pixels in one horizontal line which successively appear more often, are coded shorter than those appearing less frequently, whereby there is achieved the video data compression without losses. The content similarity of the video streams allows the parallel use of the same processing cluster over the video streams thus contributing to higher speed of video data decompression on the decoder side.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR WIRELESS DETECTING PRESENCE OF INDIVIDUALS AUTOMATION OF DOMESTIC ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS
Patent number: RS53536
ABSTRACT
Invention herewith described refers to the improvement of the existing solutions in the field of implementation and automation of management of the smart electrical installations. The invention includes the system and method for detecting the presence of the user applied to the automatic control of lighting and other domestic installations using an existing wireless communication network and the changes of the signal strength indicator value (in English: Received Signal Strength Indicator – RSSI) between the stationary communication nodes. The presented method involves monitoring the change in value of the RSSI by disruption of the initial value of the established communication field between the nodes within the premises due to the entry/exit of an individual in the room.; The entry of an individual into the established field of communication causes the change of RSSI that is periodically read after any exchange of messages between the nodes. Based on detected changes, a control signal is generated which will be transmitted to the central control unit that converts the signal into a command for room lighting control or other domestic electrical appliances. Implementation of the system includes at least two nodes, which are at the domestic installation level implemented in the form of the smart socket and the smart switch for lighting and the central control unit as a device for managing exchange of messages and commands. These basic units of the system communicate with each other, follow the change of RSSI between the nodes and based on the crossing preset thresholds of signal strength variation, perform the control of room lighting.; In addition to the lighting control, the system manages any electrical device connected to the smart sockets by their switching on or off if it is the required and predefined operation.

TOPOLOGY DISCOVERY IN SMART ROAD-EDGE MARKING SYSTEM
Patent number: RS53646
Аbstract
Invention herewith described refers to the objective of this invention which is offering a solution for the initial topology discovery, the subsequent transition to the normal mode of operation, and management of devices i.e. nodes placed at the edges of the road. The node is turning on its signalling lights only if its adjacent nodes have sent the message, and ignores the messages sent from the nodes that may be at a greater distance or on adjacent roads (e.g. as on intersections). In order to act properly upon a message reception, each node must have knowledge of the relative positions of other nodes in the vicinity. This is actually a topology discovery problem whose solution is proposed by this invention.

FORMING PROCESS OF RADIO MAPS FOR WIRELESS INDOOR LOCALIZATION SYSTEMS
Patent number: RS53647
Abstract
Invention herewith described refers to the procedure for processing the measured received signal strength (so called RSSI) during the process of forming a “radio map” that will be used in localization of devices in the wireless communication environment. The m measured RSSI vectors for each reference point in the radio map (511) will be grouped in k clusters and centres of each cluster, called prototypes, become the representative RSSI vectors of the given reference point in the radio map (512). In this way, the data compression in the radio map is achieved as well as detection of the most representative values of the received signal strength for each point of the space. With that any reference point of the radio map is defined by k vectors of prototypes of the received signal containing strengths of the signal (RSSI) received from the base stations. For clustering m vectors of the measured RSSI signals, the algorithm for unsupervised learning is used, which is characterized by its ability that the output vectors preserve the input data topology. The measurement procedure of RSSI signals (500), their processing (510) and storage (520) is repeated for all reference points of the previously defined indoor space. The forming process of a “radio map” is an integral part of the localization method based on the impression of the received signal strength and is applicable at all widespread standards for the wireless communication, IEEE.802.15, IEEE.802.11, IEEE 802.16, etc.

THE METHOD AND THE SYSTEM FOR WIRELESS DEVICE-FREE HUMAN PRESENCE DETECTION BASED ON INCREMENTAL PROCEDURE FOR EXTRACTING PRINCIPAL COMPONENTS OF THE SIGNAL STRENGTHS VARIATIONS MATRIX COMBINED WITH FUZZY LOGIC INFERENCE MECHANISM
Patent number: RS54281
Abstract
The presented invention significantlv improves the existing solutions in the area of human presence detection sensors. In contrary to conventional sensor solutions, the proposed invention detects the presence of a human by analyzing the variation of the received signal strength indicator (RSSI). The method exploits the fact that the human body interferes with radio signals by introducing irregularities in the radio signature which indicate possible human presence. The motivation comes from a need for reducing the installation complexity and development costs induced by the integration of specific human presence detection sensors. By analyzing radio signals between radio transceivers embedded in 2.4 GHz (Zigbee) wireless power outlets, a certain level of sensorial intelligence is introduced without additional sensors and visual modifications of the environment. The proposed invention is made of the iterative algorithm for the extraction of principal components (Principal Components Analysis – PCA) from the matrix of inter-outlets radio communication links and Mamdani’s fuzzy logic inference engine. Strong interferences with the radio signal are expressed when a human body encounters the signal in its propagation path. Therefore, the presence of a human within the wireless network range results in significant signal strength variations at the receiver, whereas the degree of the signal strength variation is correlated with the level of human motion. The RSSI data processed with the proposed invention, efficiently determine the presence of a human in the vicinity of the smart outlets.

METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC COMPRESSION OF VIDEO SIGNAL DURING THE FUNCTIONAL TESTING OF MULTIMEDIA DEVICES
Patent number: RS54312
Abstract
The invention presents a method based on intelligent automated testing of multimedia devices, primarily set-top boxes, with a goal to increase their reliability. Testing of multimedia devices is done by comparing incoming video sequences of the reference signal and outgoing video signal of the device being tested. Incoming video content is obtained in real time (“online”, “live”) and, in order to save storage space, the need for large communication bandwidth is reduced. Also, the reference (114) and outgoing video signal (113) is being tested and, in an identical way their contents and quality are reduced. Reducing the video resolution is done until a certain threshold of the damage quality is reached (the highest measure that can be reached for video sequence comparison), which depends on the size of the image being reduced. An automated test system composed of control logic (116), a remote control emulator and finite state machines manipulate both devices and tests software on the device. Based on tracking changes of differences in the real response of the device and reference signal, as well as already familiar test cases implemented by the commands of remote control emulator, the potential error in test cases is being detected and automatically marked.

The combination of commands that the user is selecting represents one test sequence of commands. Each test sequence of commands is modeled by a diagram of the transition probabilities. Each command characterizes one state in a state diagram. The method involves the analysis of all test sequences of commands in order to select the optimal test sequences of commands and defining the number of their repetitions in order to achieve a given accuracy testing. Besides the transition probabilities the selecting of optimal test sequence of commands is based on the belonging of the current test sequence to a particular group of commands with the aim to optimize the testing process.

METHOD FOR CONFIGURING A PROGRAMMABLE DEVICE OVER POWER LINES
Patent number: RS54811
Abstract
The invention proposes a specific method for configuring a programmable electrical device (103). The method introduces increasing flexibility of device (103) functionality, using a new approach for device configuration exclusively via power lines (104). In order for the invention to be fully usable in practice, the existence of dedicated power supply interface (102), which provides data transfer between a programmer (106) and a device (103), is necessary. Power supply interface (102) enables, besides the communication via the power lines (104), the possibility of supplying the device (103) that is being configured. Therefore, the devices that control the system have limited power supply and can be used. The basic characteristics of this method are: the two-way approachable communication interface (“one wire”), a “half duplex” bidirectional communication, parallel power supplying and communication between the device being configured and the programmable device.

THE METHOD OF INTERPOLATION WITHOUT CHANGING THE EDGES WITH VARIABLE SCALING FACTOR
Patent number: RS55002
Abstract
The invention introduces a new method for image interpolation with a basic idea to preserve edges in the image. The method consists of two steps. In the first step is being performed the division of original points in maximum two groups and determined to which group belongs the interpolated point, and the second step in which is performed the interpolation using gravity algorithm based solely on the value of points in the group of the interpolated point.
