Accelerating the SDV: Deploying Modern SW Concepts on State-of-the-Art HW with Automated CI/CD Pipelines

Accelerating the SDV: Deploying Modern SW Concepts on State-of-the-Art HW with Automated CI/CD Pipelines

The Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) is no longer a distant vision, it is an integration challenge happening right now. At RT-RK, we believe that the only way to manage this complexity without compromising on speed or quality is through a disciplined, efficient approach. We call it Accelerating the Software-Defined Vehicle - The Lean Way.

As we prepare for Embedded World 2026 in Nürnberg, our Automotive Business Unit is excited to showcase how we turn these modern architectural concepts into production-oriented reality.

Here is a preview of the three pillars we will be highlighting at our booth:

1. Modern SW Concepts in Action: The S-Core Demo

Theory meets practice in our live mixed-criticality automotive demo. We are showcasing a setup that combines QM and ASIL-B functions, utilizing S-Core (from Eclipse SDV) for the orchestration of applications on the HPC.

The demo features a mixed-criticality instrument cluster utilizing S-Core capabilities for communication handling, lifecycle management, health monitoring, and logging. To demonstrate the flexibility of modern software, we will show this running on:

  • Virtual platforms (QEMU): Enabling early-stage development and shift-left testing.
  • State-of-the-art SoC: Our first implementations on the Qualcomm SA8775P, bringing high-performance compute to the forefront of SDV.

2. Deep Integration Expertise: Bridging μC, μP, and GPU/NPU

A true SDV isn't just about the application layer; it’s about the seamless orchestration of heterogeneous software across the diverse hardware targets within the vehicle. RT-RK’s core strength lies in general software integration.

Our engineering teams specialize in spanning the gap between:

  • Microcontrollers (µC) for real-time safety.
  • Microprocessors (µP) for complex middleware and OS environments (Linux/QNX).
  • GPU/NPU for accelerated data processing and AI workloads.

We don’t just write code; we empower our customers to integrate modern software concepts into a unified on-board application stack, optimized for performance and resource efficiency.

3. Building the Software Factory: CI/CD & X-as-Code

Speed in the SDV era is determined by the robustness of your pipeline. RT-RK provides comprehensive engineering services to help our customers set up their own state-of-the-art software factories.

Whether through strategic consulting or providing the expertise to build your infrastructure, we focus on:

  • Automated CI/CD pipelines: Reducing manual overhead and ensuring continuous quality.
  • X-as-Code technologies: Embracing the future with everything-as-code, including Doc-as-Code supported by our partner network.
By treating documentation and infrastructure with the same rigor as source code, we ensure that traceability and compliance are "baked in" from day one.
