KONTEH 2024. – Bridging Academia with Industry

Once again, RT-RK proudly participated in KONTEH Fair, an event dedicated to promoting business opportunities and professional internships.

This year’s fair started with Academic Day on March 8th at Novi Sad Science and Technology Park and was followed by the events on March 13th and 14th at the Faculty of Technical Sciences when we all had a fantastic opportunity to get to know each other better and strengthen our relationships.

The Academic Day for RT-RK Company was marked by an engaging lecture “Connecting the World: IoT, Big Data, and the Future of Technological Innovations”, delivered by our colleague Sandra Rakočević.

Her presentation highlighted the transformative potential of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the analysis of big data across diverse sectors, emphasizing their pivotal role in shaping our collective future.

Later, during the two following days of the fair at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, the RT-RK team was glad to share information about our student internship and scholarship programs.

Through helpful discussions and firsthand experiences shared by our colleagues, students gained valuable understanding of RT-RK’s diverse work areas and the active projects we work on.

Once again, this year our live demonstrations of groundbreaking projects ADWISER and AndDesk ensured that our booth was among the most visited.

First showcasing the integration of various devices (RGB light bulbs, motion sensor, door/window sensor, dimmers) through a real gateway and control them via an application, both directly and through scenes. Additionally, demonstrating the creation of a “Cloud gateway” for virtual device control.

AndDesk demo, at the same time, aims to transform conventional Smart TVs or monitors into versatile smart devices by adding PC functionality and integrating video conference services. This enhancement enables users to utilize their TV screens for productivity, communication, and entertainment purposes without the need for an external device. Key features include a full desktop experience with mouse and keyboard support, the OS integrated directly into the monitor, and availability as both an add-on standalone OS and a feature on existing Android-based devices.

Additionally, besides the live demonstrations, the fair offered a platform for knowledge sharing through simulated interviews with our colleague Tatjana Dajević. Students seized this chance to experience a real-life interview and gain insight into the workings of the professional world.

We want to thank all our colleagues for their contribution, hard work and expertise, which made the KONTEH Fair a big success.

By talking with each other and sharing what we know, we help connect academia and industry, making it easier for new professionals to do well in the tech world. We’re excited for more chances to work together and teach new talent in the future.
