RT-RK Implements Mobile DTV Tuner with Comedia 3.0 for HARMAN Infotainment Systems

Novi Sad, Serbia – June 14, 2016 – RT-RK, a market leading hardware and software development house in the area of consumer electronics, communications, and multimedia, today announced to deliver a complete software stack with iWedia’s Comedia 3.0 middleware, implementing a mobile digital TV tuner for infotainment platforms from HARMAN, the premier connected technologies company for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets.
RT-RK is the software integrator interfacing licensed software stacks, including the iWedia solution, customized for HARMAN infotainment framework requirements.
Porting of the TV software stack onto available platform resources should comply with requirements for the mobile TV tuner of the infotainment system defined by HARMAN. Considering that Comedia 3.0 is a DVB middleware intended for stationary devices, significant modifications related to the tuner interface and station list are foreseen. Another complexity for the TV stack is the requirement to handle two transport streams in parallel, a mandatory feature to handle mobile requirements.

The TV core shall support standards for digital terrestrial television used by the respective television networks in countries worldwide.  The TV software stack will be compliant with country-specific requirements and support Conditional Access Systems (CI+ certified).
