PRESS RELEASE
Novi Sad, Serbia – March 6, 2025 – RT-RK, a
leading provider of embedded software and system integration solutions,
announces that mARTini running on Synaptics Astra™ Embedded Processors
will be showcased at the
Synaptics booth (Hall 4A, Booth# 259) during Embedded World 2025. This demonstration highlights the ongoing collaboration between RT-RK and
Synaptics, emphasizing RT-RK’s expertise in integrating and optimizing
solutions for Synaptics' SoCs.
mARTini, a software solution that enables
a runtime environment for Android® applications on Linux®, optimizes GPU resource sharing and enhances efficiency in
heterogeneous environments. By leveraging mARTini, manufacturers can achieve
superior performance and streamlined graphics pipelines, making it ideal for
consumer electronics and infotainment applications. The
showcased demo will run on the
Synaptics Astra SL1640 SoC, featuring Android 12 Snow Cone. It utilizes the
Linux 5.15.140 kernel, with Yocto Kirkstone as the build framework.
The Synaptics Astra SL1640 SoC is a highly integrated AI-Native Linux and Android system-on-chip (SoC) optimized for consumer and enterprise workloads. It includes hardware accelerators for edge inference, security, video, graphics, and audio, featuring a quad-core Arm® Cortex®-A55 CPU, a 1.6+ TOPS NPU, an Imagination GE9920 GPU capable of 90 GFLOPS, and Ultra HD video encode/decode pipelines, making it an ideal platform for AI-driven, high-performance applications.
“The Synaptics Astra SoC is one more platform on which we have ported
and optimized mARTini. Our partnership with Synaptics has enabled us to
refine advanced solutions like this one,” said Nikola Teslić, CEO of RT-RK. “Through multiple projects with Synaptics, we have developed a deep
understanding of their SoCs, and the mARTini demo at EW2025 highlights our
expertise in harnessing the capabilities of their architecture. Having
mARTini featured at the Synaptics’ booth demonstrates the value and
innovation we bring to the industry.”
“The ease with which RT-RK ported and optimized mARTini on Astra is a
direct result of the platform’s open-source approach and our
dedication to empowering our innovative ecosystem partners,” said John Weil, Vice President of IoT and Edge AI Processor Business at
Synaptics.
“RT-RK’s software is an elegant solution that allows developers
to fully exploit our hardware for video-intensive, high-performance embedded
applications, as the SL1640 demo at our booth will show.”
